Education for Wellness: A Virtual Party for Us, June – Part 2
In mid-June, MyJane hosted our third virtual event to bring together women to empower and enjoy one another’s company and learn from industry leaders how to pursue our own success and be the best version of ourselves.
Learn to Navigate Beyond Fear with Cyn Hannah
Cyn, a transformational life coach, led a powerful session focused on “Ways to Not Let Fear Have You.” She taught us techniques to regain control of our fear and ourselves, which is the only way to move forward and be at peace, lessons she learned from her own deep life experiences.
She offered up these four strategies to help us move through our fear.
- Reframe how you speak about fear. More specifically, Cyn recommends that we say “a part of me is afraid” vs. “I’m afraid.” With this perspective, fear doesn’t own all of you, all of your life and all of yourself.
- Use your breath. In our state of fear, we’re in our sympathetic nervous system, which is our fight, flight and freeze mode. Through slow, deep breaths in our nose and mouth, we can activate our parasympathetic nervous system, or “rest and digest” mode. In fear, we can’t create solutions because we’re stuck in survival mode. Through breathing we can calm ourselves to think clearly.
- Self-analyze. When your fear show ups, go through the process of asking yourself, “What are you really afraid of? Is my fear in the present or the future?” Cyn recommends not focusing on what you don’t want to happen. Instead, focus on what you do want to happen. The Universe will see where you put your attention and work to make that happen, so divert your attention to what you want instead of what you’re afraid of.
- Create your life vision. Cyn encouraged us to create a vision for our lives and to make a decision to commit to that vision. With a focus on where we want to go, we can make decisions daily to realize that vision. Ask yourself, “What would you love?” and then take action to create different results.

Up Your Canna-IQ with Leigh-Anne Anderson
Leigh-Anne Anderson, a cannabis educator and senior-level PR strategist and publicist, led an informative and educational session to help our attendees to level up their cannabis knowledge.
She helped us better understand hemp-derived products and their non-intoxicating properties; the many benefits of CBD; and how CBD works systematically with the endocannabinoid system and our own body’s receptors to create a feeling of balance in the body.
Her deep dive into terpenes taught us that terpenes are aromatic oils that imbue cannabis varieties with distinctive smells, like citrus, berry, mint, and pine. Not unlike other strong-smelling plants and flowers, terpenes may play a key role in the variety of effects of various cannabis strains.
Some terpenes might promote relaxation and stress-relief, while others potentially promote focus and acuity. Over 100 different terpenes have been identified in the cannabis plant, and every strain tends toward a unique terpene type and composition. By understanding these types, we can have greater control of the effects we want to feel from our CBD and other hemp-based products.

CBD Business Opportunities with MyJane
MyJane President Helene Blanchette spent time educating our group about the company’s commitment to empowering women through financial wellness.
During this time of pandemic when we are in a state of financial insecurity, MyJane’s micro-affiliate program is an opportunity to help women who are “cannacurious” or who simply want to launch their own business without having to make any kind of financial commitment.
Business opportunities with MyJane include the ability to make money while learning from an impressive group of female-led companies and founders. Each week, the company offers weekly training sessions to help the affiliate learn about the cannabis industry, cutting-edge social media strategies, branding and how to truly monetize one’s network.
Helene also presented our newest wellness and gift box, the SheSurvival Box by MyJane. This box is filled with essentials for women in need of laughter and a wellness break through high-quality, hemp-based products and a series of humorous cards that will help lighten this stressful time. It includes a Mantra Mask, bath balm, CBD lip balm, sleep mask, votive candle, lavender inhalation pouch, jewelry and full-spectrum CBD capsules.
With our speakers’ help, we learned how to apply valuable lessons to our lives in practical ways. Now that we are empowered to move beyond fear and educated on how CBD and MyJane can have real impact on our lives, let’s take the leap into our future together!
