How does CBD work within the body?

The endocannabinoid system has been around for as long as any other system in the body. Just like your cardiac, respiratory, and endocrine systems.
The difference is we just never knew about it.
The endocannabinoid system was discovered in Israel in the 80s -90s. Israeli scientists discovered the endocannabinoid system through their studies of the marijuana plant.
These scientists extracted each of the compounds of the marijuana plant and isolated the THC, CBD, CBN, and CBG. The scientists then had patients take each specific compound, orally. This made it easier to trace the compounds and see where they ended up within the body.
The scientists were able to successfully trace where each compound ended up.
They wanted to learn if THC would end up in the brain, heart, or lungs. Where did THC end up? Where did CBD end up in the body? Right? Did the CBD go to your lungs or gut?
What was the final destination of these compounds of the marijuana plant?
It turns out that by tracing the compounds to their final destination in the body, we were able to map out an entire system that we never knew existed before. This is called the endocannabinoid system.
That’s how we learned about the endocannabinoid system.
So the next question is, What is the purpose of this endocannabinoid system? This system has more receptors in it than any other system in your body. The endocannabinoid system has more receptors than your cardiac system, pulmonary system, or your kidneys system. These receptors are even floating on your white blood cell count and white blood cells are what controls your immune system…the immune system fighter cells.
So, why does the endocannabinoid system exist? What is it’s purpose? The purpose of this endocannabinoid system is to bring your body into a state of balance. In medical terms, we call this homeostasis. It just means balance, right? Anytime your body is out of balance, your endocannabinoid system activates to bring it back into balance.
The endocannabinoid system is the yin and yang of your body. That’s what it does.
It detects anything that’s out of balance and it brings it back into balance.
So let me give you some examples. If I had a fever, then my body’s temperature is out of balance. Right? It’s too high. So the endocannabinoid system kicks in to bring my temperature back down to normal, that is 98.6 degrees.
That’s one function of the endocannabinoid system.
Sugar is pro inflammatory, sugar promotes inflammation.
Inflammation is the core behind diseases, whether it’s cancer-pro-inflammatory, Alzheimer’s- pro-inflammatory, right? Add anxiety. There are a lot of inflammatory diseases.
You know that you can name any condition in your body and I can link it to inflammation. So for example, if your immune system is exposed to a virus, it then attacks it. During the process of this attack and fight between the immune system and the virus, inflammation is created.
What does this have to do with CBD? What does that have to do with cannabis in general?
One thing you should realize is that inflammation is when your body is out of balance.
Inflammation is a state of the body being out of balance. When you understand that, you understand the potential of stimulating the endocannabinoid system to bring it back to balance. You can understand why CBD can play a role with all these conditions by lowering the inflammation level?
I mean, why is it that the number one reason people take CBD is for pain or some type of arthritis, back pain, or knee pain, right? The number one reason people take CBD is for some type of pain, because pain is driven by inflammation. CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system. When the endocannabinoid system is stimulated, it brings anything that’s out of balance, back into balance.
This is why it’s taken for pain.
