A Virtual Party Para Nosotras
Virtual Party Para Nosotras
When Strangers come together from different fields, various ethnies, cultures, and backgrounds, magic is created.
On April 23rd, MyJane organized a virtual party for the launch of its new micro-affiliate program aimed at empowering women across the USA to find a new normal, new source of income, reinventing themselves and perhaps the future.

When Strangers Come Together
From the start, the tone was set with the contagiously radiant Deborah Castillero of MyJane who hosted the virtual gathering. Hans Phillips, a brilliant and calm executive performance consultant, had a strong presence simply by showing his own vulnerability.

Hans shared 5 valuable tips to help the 90 women, who were live on the Zoom video, cope with this surreal pandemic and the confinement, a weird reality that is slowly progressing to become a new normal. Allow yourself to rest, to do nothing sometimes, hydrate your body, exercise every day, do not overeat or over drink your emotions, sleep the number of hours your body needs. It is a unique opportunity to recharge and not doing these 5 simple things will aggravate your state of mind.
A virtual “cheers” to women helping women
A virtual cheers to women helping women was the great ending to an educational segment on how to choose the right wine for the right weather and the right pairing with food. We all learned crispy white refreshing wines for summer days are not aged in oak barrels but rather in stainless steel barrels, which gives the defined crisp and refreshing qualities to the wine. The dynamic public relations director of San Antonio winery and clearly a great wine connoisseur Melissa Gonzalo succeeded to make us feel the taste of her wine through her lively virtual demonstration.
Camera-ready in 10 minutes
And then came Aldys Minaya who conquered her audience in an instant with her live demonstration on how to be camera ready for your Zoom meetings which have become the new standard. You may wear your pyjama pants, however, don’t get caught without make-up. You will find the list of all the great products she used during the beautiful transformation that happened before our eyes. I am convinced that all women present learned a thing or two from this fantastic New-York make-up artist who has intimately made us feel like we were her best friend. Well done Aldys.

The author of several books and podcasts, Doctor Jarret, came to the screen like a star ready for the red carpet. He clearly understands how to well leverage social media but above all, he communicates his health advices and demystification of the endocannabinoid system in a clear and simple way. No doubt that his work is of great value in this quest for a better understanding of the newly discovered endocannabinoid system that all humans and animals have in their body and brain.
Brown cookies in a gold bowl
As if the fun and informative sessions were not enough, we deliciously enjoyed the cookie recipe of the great Mexican Chef, Fernanda Alvarez who whipped an amazing gluten-free and vegan cookie dough in her gold bowl. I had never seen a gold mixing bowl before and suddenly I need one. She graciously shared her recipe with us and you can find it here: Cookie Recipe

Creating new income opportunity for women
We had so much fun and great guests that I was about to forget to talk about the piece de resistance of this event; the launch of the micro-affiliate program of MyJane. We wanted to empower women to have new income without hassle and investment so we created a program that merges the best of micro business and affiliate marketing models, hence the name of micro-affiliates program.
We are proud of this new aspect of our business model which really brings together in full circle the mission of women helping women: A women-led company, partnering with women-owned brands, now providing an opportunity for incremental income to a community of women, while also helping women survivors on their journey to recovery from the horrors of human trafficking. You can find out more and sign-up for the program at myjane.com/micro-affiliate.
To crown the day, we had an HR specialist, Cheryl Branch from the Branch Group who provided down to earth and valuable information on how to get ready for a job search and to be on top of your game in a time of crisis. We know that 60 % of the jobs lost during the pandemic were held by women, so it is important to come together and support our future. Opportunities to reinvent yourselves are there, and we are here to support you.
